A look back at the AI and Creation Summit: where to start?

We had the pleasure of attending the "IA et création: par où commencer?" Summit, organized by the RDV de la Création. This event was a real source of inspiration and innovation, bringing together experts in the field to discuss the growing impact of AI on our creative professions.

Here's a summary of the panels we attended.

Panel 1: AI will transform creative roles

With Audric Gagnon of experimenting.ai, PENGUIN, and creative director Vincent Ramsay-Lemelin, we explored how AI is redefining the way we create and our roles. They addressed the idea that AI, far from eliminating our jobs, will transform them. Jobs are changing fast, and those who haven't yet integrated AI into their practice can still learn.

A crucial point was the importance of becoming "AI ready" by adapting one's creative process.

How to create an image with artificial intelligence?

Here's an example of the creative process:

  • Create a moodboard by collecting inspirational images on platforms like Pinterest.

  • Providing this moodboard to an artificial intelligence platform, such as MidJourney.

  • Ask them to generate a creation that integrates and transforms these elements into a new, original composition.

Panel 2: How do you talk to machines? Discover the art and secrets of prompting

Copywriter Pascal Henrard and promptogenist Alexandra Martel shared their knowledge of dialogue with machines.

They point out the difficulty of obtaining a series of visuals with a common thread. Creating a campaign of several shots can be difficult to do with AI. It can take a lot of time and trial and error to be able to communicate the visual aesthetic that needs to be transposed into each of the images.

They tested a photoshoot generated by artificial intelligence. It turned out to be quicker and easier to do it traditionally with real people and a camera.

Just goes to show that machines aren't about to replace us!

Do chatbots have feelings?

We had some fun exploring this question by observing ChatGPT's conditioning through rewards. It would seem that rewarding ChatGPT for its efforts improves response quality. 🤔In other words, if ChatGPT were promised a reward in exchange for a good answer, it would be more complete. We even note that kindness and politeness generate better results. Worth testing!

Panel 3: Discover 25 AI tools in 25 minutes

Brigade Web's Daphné Norris and Seb Salois presented a fast-paced and rewarding session on 25 AI tools that can revolutionize our workflow.

Among the tools mentioned, here are the most interesting:

Krea.ai Creates visuals from logos.

OpusClip Cuts long videos into clips with padding (ideal for social networking).

Recraft.ai Creates consistent illustrations and increases image resolution.

Jenni.ai Edits and cites sources for blogs.

Elevenlabs.io Generate natural voices in any language.

Otter.ai Take notes on meetings and assign tasks.

Panel 4: Agency secrets: how creative companies have embraced AI

LG2 explained how they use AI as a new tool, not as a threat. They shared an example of brainstorming with ChatGPT for a St-Hubert campaign, using MidJourney for mockups. This demonstrates how AI can generate creative and measurable ideas.

Panel 5: Legal and ethical aspects of AI

Lawyer Aicha Tohry addressed the legal and ethical issues surrounding the use of AI. She discussed web scraping, copyright, and issues related to the ownership of AI-created content.

A complex subject that raises crucial questions for the future of our industry.

What is web scraping?

Web scraping is the technique of using software to automatically extract data from websites. Artificial intelligence platforms, such as ChatGPT, use web scraping to collect large amounts of information available online to train their language models. This data includes text, articles and other content that enables AI to understand and generate natural language more efficiently.

In conclusion, the "AI and creation: where to start?" Summit was an enriching and inspiring experience, offering us fresh perspectives and practical tools for integrating AI into our creative processes.
